James handles real estate transactions and land use entitlement as well as matters of software and technology licensing.
James’s practice focuses on real estate transactions, land use entitlements, administrative hearings, and software licensing. His dynamic background includes six years as the lead attorney for planning and zoning matters for the City of Boise, where he defended land use decisions on judicial review and advised on public-private partnership projects including industrial parks and downtown infrastructure. As lead attorney for the City of Boise’s Information Technology department, he negotiated software and fiber licensing agreements and advised on broadband initiatives. His courtroom experience includes two years as a criminal prosecutor and six years as a civil litigator. James served as a U.S. Army officer and deployed to Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division.
